Deusdedit Merlot Stramaturo (late harvest)
Magister Deusdedit is the architect who designed and erected the bell tower of the Benedictine Abbey of Pomposa in 1063. Dedicated to him and his ingenuity is this wine made from the late, manual harvesting of our Merlot grapes grown in the sandy soils around the monastery.
After aging in barriques for about 6 months, Deusdedit is put in the bottle where it rests at least another 6 months.
Wine with intense color, evolved aromas, powerful but velvety tannins with pleasantly soft finish. Pair with important meats such as roasts, seasoned meats, game.
We recommend opening the bottle at least 30 minutes before serving and pouring into large goblets.
Alcohol content 14.5 percent Serving temperature 16-18 degrees.
